Florida education news: candidate forum, reorganization, arrested
CANDIDATE QUESTIONS: Candidates for the Pinellas County School Board answered questions at a public forum last night. Because of breaking news, the story was a little short. TOP-DOWN REORGANIZATION: The Miami-Dade School District will do a $14.8 million reorganization, condensing regional offices and cutting up to 100 positions, the Miami Herald reports.
ARRESTED: A middle school principal in Palm Beach County was arrested on charges of soliciting a minor for sex, the Palm Beach Post reports.
NAMING RIGHTS: The Orange County School Board is considering a proposal to sell the naming rights to a high school stadium for about $100,000. The stadium would have its new name for five years, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
