Florida lawmakers skeptical about reading coaches
From yesterday's PolitiJax blog: State Sen. Stephen Wise led a pushback Thursday against $40 million requested by the Florida Department of Education for reading coaches. Because the state has spent $1.4 billion over the past decade on coaches, and many students still struggle with reading on the FCAT test at the 10th grade level, he questioned effectiveness.
