Florida school districts to bid on test development
As Florida enters uncharted waters in the aftermath of SB 736, here's one area to watch: The development of new standardized tests by school districts. On Friday, the Florida Department of Education asked districts to bid on the creation of tests in "hard-to-measure content areas," i.e., PE, arts, music, career and technical courses, etc. The state has set aside $20 million in Race to the Top money for this line of test development.
