Florida teacher of year is finalist for national title
TAMPA -- Megan Allen's rise to the top shows no sign of slowing.
Named state teacher of the year in July, the Cleveland Elementary School teacher is now one of four finalists for National Teacher of the Year.
The Council of Chief State School Officers said Allen was chosen by a panel of educators from national organizations. She will travel to Washington in March for a final round of interviews. And if she wins, she'll be back to Washington in April for a sit-down with President Barack Obama.
