Frank Parker announces he will not seek reelection to Pasco School Board
Parker, who previously served two terms on the New Port Richey city council and one term as mayor, said he had recently completed his application for Medicare and was making plans to scale back his accounting practice.
"It's time to smell the roses," he said. "And my wife needs some relief after 30 years of it."
Parker's decision means that the Pasco School Board will have a new majority after the November election. Veteran board member Cathi Martin also has announced her plan to retire after three terms, and board member Kathryn Starkey intends to resign to run for state House District 45.
Board chairman Allen Altman has not yet declared whether he will seek a new term.
