Gay rights group endorses Krassner, Lerner, Jackson for Pinellas school board

The political action committee for Equality Florida, the statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights group, issued its state and local endorsements this week. For Pinellas school board, it's backing Terry Krassner in District 2, Linda Lerner in District 6 and Jim Jackson in District 7.

Equality Florida did not endorse either Peggy O'Shea or Greg Hunsinger in the District 3 race, and it appears neither candidate sought the endorsement, said executive director Nadine Smith.

The group's safe schools platform includes support for anti-bullying measures that protect students from racism, sexism and homophobia.
