Gender gap with valedictorians, salutatorians?

Maybe it's a coincidence. Maybe it's a one-year blip. But if this year's list of valedictorians and salutatorians in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties is any indication, you can add top class ranks to the evidence of a growing gender gap in public schools.

In Pinellas, 28 of 46 vals and sals are female.

In Hillsborough, at least 41 of 63 are (there were seven we couldn't identify from names alone).

That's 63 percent, guys! You're getting smoked! But maybe that's not surprising, given other gender gap evidence like this and this.

Shouldn't we all be talking about this more?
