Remember the Gibbs High teacher who got in trouble for allegedly stuffing a ballot box to help her niece become homecoming queen? She's in hot water with the state, again.

The state board that disciplines teachers has ordered Gibbs High English teacher Sharion Thurman, 59, to appear before it next month because she failed to meet the terms of a settlement stemming from the ballot-box allegations. Approved in January 2009, it ordered Thurman to pay a $500 fine and take a college-level ethics class within the first year of a two-year probationary period. The state says she did neither.

Thurman, who has been written up multiple times over a 24-year career, was making $61,050 a year last year. She teaches students at risk of not graduating. Her case resurfaces just days after Gov. Charlie Crist vetoed Senate Bill 6, which would have made it easier for districts to fire teachers.
