Friday’s St. Petersburg Times story pointed out girls in Florida graduate at a much better clip than boys, although the gap has narrowed from 8 percentage points in 2008 to 5.8 percentage points this year. In 2011, girls graduated at higher rates than boys in 63 of 67 districts (assuming our quick run-through of the numbers is correct). In 11 districts (all of them small) the gap was in double digits.
