Gov. Charlie Crist delivers check to Frost Elementary

Crist-apGov. Charlie Crist will drop by Hillsborough's Frost Elementary at 1:15 p.m. today to deliver $56,222 to the school. Frost earned the recognition funds by increasing its state grade from a C to a B, based on spring 2009  FCAT results.

School district spokesman Stephen Hegarty said he expects Crist will have a few words to say to students, most likely congratulatory in nature for a job well done. The district won't be asking parental permission for children to spend time with the governor.

Frost is one of 2,103 schools that will be getting school recognition funds this year.
