HCC is 11th in country for AA degrees

Tampa's Hillsborough Community College was ranked 11th out of the country's 1,200 community colleges, according to a report in this month's issue of Community College Week magazine.

In an HCC news release, the school points to its 2,615 associate degrees awarded during the 2009-2010 year, which was a 7-percent increase from the year before. There was a 14-percent jump in degrees awarded to minority students, making the college the 16th largest producer of degrees for minorities in the country.

“HCC is committed to providing a quality learning environment and support services that enable our students to complete their program of study," said HCC President Ken Atwater. "These rankings are a testament to the success of those efforts.”
