Hernando selects longtime educator Ken Pritz for second assistant school superintendent's job
BROOKSVILLE — Longtime Hernando County educator and principal Ken Pritz was picked Tuesday morning to be the district's second assistant superintendent.
The move caps superintendent Bryan Blavatt's long quest to add a top-ranking administrator to his staff, and adds another potential internal candidate to replace Blavatt when he retires in June 2013.
"It was a slam dunk," said Blavatt. "It's going to give an opportunity to provide some more institutional memory.
"It also gives us the opportunity to work with Ken for a year and (assistant superintendent) Sonya (Jackson) so that whoever comes in will have a nice easy transition next year."
