If it's Tuesday, this must be Utah
Get out your United States maps, everyone. It's time to play Where in the Country is Jeb Bush Talking Education?
Our former governor has extensively traveled the states, touting his brand of education reform to eager lawmakers who have steadily moved to adopt pieces of the plan. Arizona went for school grades. Oklahoma has its eyes on the whole package.
Bush also has made his pitch to Indiana, Georgia, Illinois and Nevada.
Now, you can add Utah to the list.
As the Deseret News reports, "After a meeting with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush Tuesday, Utah legislators announced plans to pattern some forthcoming policy after Bush's avant-garde approach to education reform." The Salt Lake Tribune quotes Bush this way: "Our students aren’t any brighter than the students of Utah. It’s perhaps the accountability system and things we’ll talk about that yielded this result that might be instructive for the state."
