It is more blessed to give...
Looking for something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving? Sometimes the easiest way to find gratitude is through giving. Along those lines, Pinellas County interim superintendent John Stewart has asked his staff to start a "Children's Gift Fund" -- a way to give to students who might otherwise go without this holiday season. Stewart landed on the idea after hearing that Blanton Elementary had not gotten enough donations to sustain its Elf Project this year. According to a weekly newsletter sent to school board members each Friday, assistant superintendent Kevin Smith and supervisor for social work Donna Sicilian are organizing the project. They will ensure all donations are sent to the schools in need. Stewart is encouraging employees in the administration building to give to the fund rather than to one another.
