Janssen could get $621,536
If former Pinellas Superintendent Julie Janssen prevails on her view of what the school district owes her, she stands to net $621,536 over the next year. Besides the $218,538 in benefits she's claiming, there's $203,000 in salary and $199,998 in accrued vacation days and unused sick leave (the latter in a lump sum), according to the tally put together last week by her attorney, Ron Meyer.
Board attorney Jim Robinson told school board members Friday that $155,344 of the benefit claim is in dispute. He also said he'll be asking for their guidance at this morning's workshop, which was scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon so members and interim superintendent John Stewart could discuss priorities.
