Janssen offers explanation on Carol Thomas situation

In response to questions from Pinellas School Board member Linda Lerner, Superintendent Julie Janssen sent board members a lengthy email yesterday that offered details about her handling of the investigation of regional superintendent Carol Thomas.

Click on the links below to see Lerner's email and then Janssen's response.

Note: Lerner said she made an error in her email that she realized after reviewing the video of the board meeting where the board voted 4-3 to relinquish copyright and patent rights to Thomas. She said the statement that "there was no indication from Dr. Janssen that she knew about and supported the development of this project" is incorrect. "I made a mistake," Lerner said. But she added that she still stands by her vote not to support Janssen's recommendation. "My concerns remain the same basically," she said.
