Janssen offers to resign as school chief
Pinellas County school superintendent Julie Janssen has offered to resign effective Sept. 2 on the condition the school board pays her a year of salary and benefits.
Janssen's attorney, Ron Meyer of Tallahassee, emailed the settlement offer to school board attorney Jim Robinson this afternoon.
Janssen, district school chief since 2008, makes $200,000 annually, according to her contract. Neither she nor Meyer could be immediately reached for comment.
