Janssen recommends a new dropout prevention director

Pinellas superintendent Julie Janssen is recommending that Diana Lenox become the new dropout prevention director.

If the School Board approves, Lenox, a supervisor in the dropout prevention office, would replace Dee Burns, who moved to student assignment. The board rejected Janssen's initial recommendation that Janet Hernandez replace Burns.

According to the district, 11 candidates applied for the job, nine of them from within the district. Lenox would make $83,755 if she is approved. She currently makes $74,781.
