Jeb for ed secretary?
John McCain is. During a Florida interview with the Associated Press, he touted former governor Jeb Bush for his education ideas.
McCain said he has turned to Jeb for education policy advice for a "couple of years" already, and would continue to do so after November, if elected.
"He's very well respected on many issues, but education is probably one where I think he has a nationwide reputation," McCain said of the ex-governor. (McCain also has used Jeb backer and former State Board of Education chairman Phil Handy as an education adviser.)
Jeb made overhauling Florida's education system his top priority when he became governor in 1999. We got the FCAT, school grades, vouchers and more. Like it or not, his way became Florida's way. Soon, perhaps, it could become the nation's way, too.
