Joe Robinson is running again for school board in Hillsborough
And now there are eight:
Joseph Robinson, an engineer with a long list of grievances about the Hillsborough County school district, is running for school board against longtime incumbent Carol Kurdell.
Robinson joins seven others in a pool that includes a bus driver, a car dealer, a philosophy professor, a math teacher who has issues with Empowering Effective Teachers, and a conservative activist who doesn't want the Council on American-Islamic Relations allowed in the schools.
Candidates have until early June to qualify, either with signatures on a petition or a $1,480 fee.
This isn't Robinson's first bid for office. He ran in 2004 to represent District 5 in central Tampa, but was defeated by Doretha Edgecomb. She's running unopposed for re-election. The seat Robinson now seeks is at-large.
This also isn't the first time we've written about Robinson -- this week. On Tuesday night he was tossed out of the school board meeting for chanting "vote 'em out" -- which chairwoman Candy Olson considered a political speech -- and then arguing with her, prompting her to invoke the board's civility issue.
