Kids need a quick energy boost? Get a free FCAT breakfast from McDonald's on Tuesday

Lots of Tampa Bay area schools — all of them in Hillsborough County — already offer free breakfast to kids every day.

But for those families who don't have that available, and who are on the run each morning, McDonald's has an offer.

Noting that children need to fuel up each morning, and especially on a big testing day, the fast-food chain will give Florida public school students in third through 11th grades a free Egg McMuffin, apple dippers and a milk or orange juice between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday.

"We all know that a healthy, well-balanced breakfast is critical to the well-being of our children," Stu Brown, co-op president for McDonald's of Tampa Bay, said in a release. "But as parents ourselves, we also know that busy schedules and hectic routines can make this tough to accomplish every day. Our local McDonald’s operators have extended this offer to help the parents in our community give their kids a great start on a very important morning."
