Med school advances
The University of Central Florida's fledgling medical school took a big step Friday, when administrators learned the national body that accredits medicaladvnaces schools is planning a site visit that could lead to preliminary accreditation for the school. After the school receives preliminary accreditation, it can recruit students. Administrators want to begin classes in fall 2009. The accrediting body will send a team to UCF to review the planned curriculum, policies, facilities, student services, faculty, administration and staff. The team will then recommend by February 2008 whether to grant preliminary accreditation.
