Meet-and-greet scheduled with Pinellas superintendent-select



We've written extensively about Pinellas County's soon-to-be new superintendent, Mike Grego. On Monday, you can meet the man for yourself.

The Pinellas County School Board is hosting a meet-and-greet between 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday at the district headquarters in Largo. (That's at 301 4th St. SW. It's in the conference hall on the second floor.) The informal event is to allow the community to get to know Grego, since it's pretty likely he's going to be the new superintendent.

Board members are expected to vote Tuesday to start contract negotiations. The contract is expected to come back for approval later this month. But we hear Grego's already been making the rounds in the district, meeting staff members and checking out his new digs. Superintendent John Stewart, who's been in the role on an interim basis, has said he's happy to leave whenever it pleases the board.
