Melinda Gates to headline Jeb Bush education conference

From a press release: Internationally renowned philanthropist and education advocate Melinda Gates will share her vision for transforming public education with lawmakers, policymakers and reform advocates at this year’s National Summit on Education Reform.

The two-day event, hosted by the Foundation for Excellence in Education, is a forum to learn what works, what doesn't and what's next in education reform.

“It’s my pleasure to join the National Summit on Education Reform.  Together, we can make America’s schools the best they can be, and ensure every child has a great teacher in every classroom.  A good education is the gateway to success in life and the long-term prosperity of our country,” said Melinda French Gates, co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Melinda Gates will deliver her keynote address on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., at The Palace Hotel in San Francisco, CA. Mrs. Gates is co-founder and co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and a tireless advocate for improving America’s education system.
