Moon Lake Elementary seeks new principal -- again

Cara_allen Moon Lake Elementary in Pasco County is looking for its third new principal in a year.

Cara Allen (left), who took the job in August, has resigned effective Feb. 13 to take a job closer to family in New Jersey. She became principal after Susan Barcellino, who joined the school in April 2008, abruptly quit. Barcellino replaced Donna Busby, who left Moon Lake in March 2008 to open a new elementary school in Wesley Chapel.

Assistant superintendent David Scanga told the Gradebook that he's mindful of the need for stability in the school's leadership. "We are looking for someone who is wanting to go to Moon Lake and stay at Moon Lake for three years, maybe longer," he said.

The application deadline is Thursday.
