The news coming out of the Pasco school district is that allocation updates are due out today. With resignations and retirements still filing in, we've heard talk that as many as half of the annual contract teachers who were let go a week ago might soon be offered new positions as a result.

While we wait for more details, we'll share some more specifics about the pink slips handed out to school-related personnel.

The cost center getting hit the hardest is the district communications department, which lost five people -- three printers, a press operator and a secretary. Mitchell High, Anclote High, Chasco Elementary, Land O'Lakes High and Shady Hills Elementary lost four people each. (See the attached file for more.)
