Most transfers accepted at Connerton Elementary School

Look for some teaching job ads at Pasco County's Connerton Elementary School.

Eight of the 11 teachers who sought transfers out of the school in the wake of leadership problems there have accepted positions elsewhere in the district, spokeswoman Summer Romagnoli told the Gradebook.

The other three did not want the jobs offered to them through the district's streamlined transfer process, which put Connerton teachers at the top of the list to take any post in the district for which they are qualified.

"We're going to continue to work with them to see if they can find a spot," Romagnoli said.

Connerton has struggled lately as some unhappy former employees and their supporters have called for the school's leadership to be removed. Superintendent Heather Fiorentino removed the assistant principal and brought in a new one to help improve the school climate and culture under principal Anna Falcone, who remains in charge.

Fiorentino also offered to let any of the school's 67 teachers leave. Eleven signed up for that option.
