Name that school

Pasco County is opening two more schools in 2008, and it needs some ideas for names. The Gradebook thought it would help by asking its readers for suggestions.

Manateeb It's no idle issue, either. Earlier this month, the Manhattan Institute issued a report showing, among other things, that Florida has more schools called Manatee than George Washington. The group went on to talk about the civic responsibility of school boards to use their naming powers to educate communities about history. It matters in many communities, where groups often lobby hard to get someone's name on the marquee.
