National poll: Public schools, teachers getting better
Americans are giving higher grades to their public schools and teachers, according to the results of an annual national survey released last week. Seventy-nine percent of respondents to the 43rd PDK/Gallup Poll on education gave their kids' school an A or B grade, up from 67 percent in 2007. Meanwhile, 69 percent gave public school teachers an A or B, up from 50 percent in 1984. Lots of interesting views in here on unions, charters, vouchers, funding, technology, Obama, etc.
