National town hall meeting on black male achievement will be in Tampa tomorrow
The academic performance of black males has been a big issue in Pinellas lately, but obviously it's an issue all over. A national town hall meeting on the issue will be held in Tampa tomorrow. It's moderated by "60 Minutes" correspondent Byron Pitts and held in conjunction with the annual fall conference of the Council of the Great City Schools (which counts Hillsborough but not Pinellas as a member).
Unfortunately, because of limited seating, it's only open to council members and the media. It's not open to the public. (Which makes us wonder about the "town hall" description ... )
