Need to reach the Florida Department of Education? Call the land line
With funding tight, the Florida Department of Education is looking for ways to cut costs that don't affect schools. One way is to dump its cell phones and Blackberries. (Just like the Florida Legislature has been encouraging school districts to do.)
Communications director Erin Geraghty Rock sent a note to reporters this morning letting us know that "effective February 28th, the Department of Education, in an effort to reduce our administrative budget, will no longer issue state cell phones and blackberries to staff."
What? How are we supposed to find someone after hours? Oh, well.
So clear those mobile numbers from your address books, friends. Only the office line will be working. For the general public, that's (850) 245-0505. Or you also can send questions via e-mail to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
