Kathleen Young, principal of Highland Lakes Elementary (and formerly principal of Lakewood Elementary), (pictured at left) has been tapped by Superintendent Julie Janssen to replace Rob Ovalle as director of elementary education, pending school board approval.

In other administration news, former Tyrone Elementary and New Heights Elementary principal Sandra Kemp will be introduced to the board tonight as administrator for the Office of Professional Standards.

Also, Debbie Caven is being recommended as the new principal for Azalea Elementary, replacing Sue Boyd. She is currently assistant principal at Azalea.
