New school bell times reversed by Pinellas School Board
Parents wrote. They called. They showed up at today's Pinellas County School Board and spoke.
And, it turns out, Pinellas County School Board members listened.
Board members voted 6-1 (with Robin Wikle dissenting) to overturn their June 15 decision to change bell times. The original change would have pushed some elementary school start times as late at 9:20 a.m.
The new plan will revert bell times back to last year's schedule. While administrators said they may not be able to save the $2.25 million the earlier proposal would have brought, they can find $900,000 by cutting 20 routes.
The vote came after hours of discussion. Click here to read complete story.
