Pinellas school officials on Tuesday released maps showing the “close-to-home” school zones for the district’s new student assignment plan. The maps show middle and high school zones. Students entering sixth and ninth grade in August who are not in a special program such as a magnet or fundamental school will receive letters next week assigning them to their "close-to-home" schools. A zone map for elementary schools will be released later this week. If you live on a boundary line or can’t tell where your zone is, call the district’s student assignment office at (727) 588-6210 or the call center at (727) 587-2020.
