Not so fast on teachers grading parents
People around the country are getting excited about Florida state Rep. Kelli Stargel's bill that would have school teachers grade their students' parents.
Over in the Florida Senate, not so much.
Sen. Steve Wise, chairman of the Education Pre-K-12 Committee, told the Gradebook that he's got many other items on his plate, including priorities of his own members and of the Florida Department of Education. As for the parent grading idea, he's lukewarm.
"I'm not sure I'm going to take that one up," Wise said. "I don't think so."
It still is a good conversation starter, though.
