At the end of a marathon five-hour School Board meeting, Hillsborough Superintendent MaryEllen Elia was racing to announce awards last night. She praised Elisa Lemerond. The Tomlin Middle School student is this year's middle school winner of the state Hispanic Heritage Essay Contest, earning a college scholarship. Elia noted her pride. She put this picture on the overhead monitor.

"We'll make sure that you have access to this beautiful picture of Gov. Crist," she said, thanking Board members for their time.

Laughter interrupted her.

"And our student," Elia blurted, looking chagrined. "It must be getting late, guys. That must have been a slip."

It's okay. We think Charlie takes a beautiful picture, too.
