Pasco board member Cathi Martin won't seek fourth term
Martin has come under fire in the past year for missing several meetings, frequently for health concerns. Three of the county's Republican state lawmakers called upon Gov. Crist to remove Martin, a Democrat holding the nonpartisan seat, in the spring of 2009.
Shortly after that, Martin said she intended to resign, but she did not follow through. She has attended most meetings and other activities since then, and has left it an open question of whether she would try to return for another four years.
So far, just one person -- lawyer Sallie Skipper -- has announced plans to run for Martin's District 3 seat. Her decision could pave the way for more candidates to jump in.
