Pasco bus grievance not officially over yet
Pasco County school bus drivers were thrilled to hear that superintendent Heather Fiorentino will rescind the wording that bars them from drinking water while sitting in the driver's seat.
That doesn't mean they're willing to give up their grievance just yet, though.
"Saying they are going to change the rule and understanding what that actually means are two different things," United School Employees of Pasco president Lynne Webb told the Gradebook. "We want to make sure they are not still saying, 'Last year we still meant for you to pull over, lock down the bus and get out of the compartment.'"
Webb said the USEP leadership and district administration plan to meet to make sure they share an understanding of what the rules actually mean, and that it's acceptable to both parties. Only then will the USEP drop the complaint, she said. Stay tuned.
