Pasco elementary schools toss hundreds of student planners
Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
That's what the week looked like in the planners that Pasco County fourth and fifth graders were supposed to get on the first day of classes on Monday. The end of the week was printed on the left-hand page, and the beginning of the week on the right.
So the notebook-sized calendars are headed to the recycling bin (as the schools can find time to remove the wire spirals that hold them together), to avoid creating any confusion.
Not to worry, though. New ones with the week in the right order already arrived at some schools, principals said, so students can begin keeping detailed notes of their assignments without too much delay because of the publication error.
UPDATE: District officials tell us this error didn't cost the school district any money, as it was a publishing mistake by the printer after the correct proofs were approved.
