Pasco evacuates three schools because of flooding

26

June

Students and staff at three Pasco County schools have evacuated their buildings this morning because of area flooding.

The extended school year and PLACE programs at Seven Springs, Cotee River and Deer Park elementary schools have relocated for the day, district officials told the Gradebook. Seven Springs moved to Schrader Elementary, while Cotee River and Deer Park went to Gulf Highlands Elementary.

The district will bus students in the ESY program home at the end of the class period, so buses might be delayed from their usual arrival times at homes. Parents will have to pick up their children from PLACE at the new evacuation sites. The district is attempting to reach all families to alert them to the change.

All other Pasco school sites so far remain unaffected by the storm.
