Pasco, Hernando schools also see grade revisions
Six Pasco County and six Hernando County schools had their grades revised upward by the Florida Department of Education on Friday, as the department continued to review the specific student records attached to each school leading up to the appeal process. The changes also led to Pasco County's district grade rising to a B from its initial C.
In Pasco, schools moving from B to A are Connerton, Deer Park and Anclote elementary schools and Weightman Middle. New River Elementary moved from C to B, and Fox Hollow Elementary moved from D to C.
In Hernando, schools moving from B to A are Brooksville Elementary, West Hernando Middle and Weeki Wachee High. Moving from C to B are Westside, Spring Hill and Pine Grove elementary schools.
Overall, the state increased the grades of 213 schools, including 116 from B to A, 55 from C to B, 35 from D to C and seven from F to D. That's 8 percent of the schools statewide.
“The strength of our accountability system depends on the partnership between school districts and the department, and these revisions are a direct result of that process,” commissioner Gerard Robinson said in a release. See story here. See list of schools with revisions attached below.
