Pasco names principal for Fivay High School
Pasco schools superintendent Heather Fiorentino has chosen a principal to open Fivay High School, the county's newest, and it's not one of the two announced candidates.
Instead, Fiorentino has chosen to move Sunlake High principal Angie Stone to Fivay, which sits along State Road 52 at Chicago Avenue in Hudson. Stone used to lead Hudson High, so she's familiar with the area, plus she has the added benefit of having prepared Sunlake for its first day of classes ever, too.
Why not pick current Hudson High principal Dave LaRoche, who applied for the job?
"We felt like we needed Dr. LaRoche to stay at Hudson High School to provide some stability," assistant superintendent Jim Davis said, noting that LaRoche has started making changes at the school that he should see to completion.
The School Board still must approve Stone's appointment. She would begin some time in the spring, and the Sunlake job will be available.
