Pasco officials seek more input on four-day school week
Its survey complete, the Pasco school district task force on four-day school weeks now wants to hear residents's views in person.
The panel has scheduled three public forums to gether community feedback on the concept, which the district has yet to define in specific terms. The task force has collected research on the topic including from nearby Marion County, which is backing away from four-day weeks even before they officially begin.
The forums are scheduled for:
- 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at Pasco Middle School
- 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at Rushe Middle School
- 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at River Ridge Performing Arts Center
"These forums are one more way to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to weigh in on this important topic," chairman Steve Luikart said.
The district received about 10,000 responses to its online survey, which was unscientific because people could choose to participate more than once.
