Pasco property values dip more than expected
Pasco County schools superintendent Heather Fiorentino and her team crafted their 2011-12 budget proposals based on an anticipated taxable property value of $23 billion.
She received word on Monday that the actual roll was lower than that by more than half a billion dollars.
The official value reported by the Property Appraiser's Office is $22,408,599,810.
"That came as a surprise," Fiorentino said.
She's now headed back to the planning table to figure out what more the district might need to cut to deal with less money than expected. Stay tuned.
