Pasco School Board gets fed up with Imagine School at Land O'Lakes
For months, the Pasco School Board has expressed frustration over the Imagine charter school's failure to submit all sorts of documents in a timely manner. An annual district review of Imagine's performance highlighted its continued missed deadlines, even for audits and reports required under statute.
Lately, board members have begun receiving complaints from parents at the school, too.
And they're getting tired of it all.
"This is an ongoing battle," board member Frank Parker said Tuesday. "Is there some way we can place them on notice to straighten up and this is it?"
Absolutely, superintendent Heather Fiorentino replied. The staff has tried to work out issues with Imagine, which has faced troubles across Florida, and agrees with the board's concerns.
"In my opinion from everything we have been working on, they are jeopardizing their contract," Fiorentino said.
The board asked Fiorentino to let Imagine leaders know of their displeasure and give the school notice. No one from the school attended the board meeting.
