Pasco school social worker named state's best for 2008
Congratulations to Melanie Massey-Foltz, who today was named Florida's 2008 school social worker of the year by the Florida Association of School Social Workers.
Massey-Foltz, 57, started working in the Pasco school district in 1979 as an aide in the student services department, earning her master's degree in social work from the University of South Florida while moving up in the system.
During her time with the district, she helped develop the ABC Project to help Pasco's needy families. She also serves on the district crisis intervention team.
