Pasco teachers union leader gets another title
Lynne Webb, who recently coasted unopposed to reelection as United School Employees of Pasco president, has added another leadership role to her resume.
She's been selected president of the West Central Florida Federation of Labor, one of nine central labor councils for the AFL-CIO of Florida. The region covers the Tampa Bay area east into the interior of the state and portions of the Gulf Coast south of Tampa.
Webb said she expects to have a heightened profile as organized labor fights several proposals coursing through the Florida Legislature. She planned to make a big speech at the local Awake the State rally in Tampa's Gaslight Park on Tuesday.
