Lisa Fagan-Brown, the K-5 library information specialist at Sanderlin Elementary. She was honored tonight at the Evening of Excellence Awards at Ruth Eckerd Hall. According to a press release the district sent out just a little bit ago:
At Sanderlin, Fagan-Brown also instructs students for the districtwide Battle of the Books, leads the Principal’s Multi-Cultural Advisory Student Committee, and initiated a girls social club to promote student socialization in a positive manner. “Through her actions and interactions, Lisa shows the students how much she cares for them, each and every day. In turn, the students are inspired to return that affection by performing at higher levels,” wrote Denise Miller, principal.
Also honored tonight: Brian Waggoner, the husband of Largo High teacher Tamara Evansen-Waggoner. He was named the 2010 Superintendent's Unsung Hero for being his wife's lifeline while she struggled with cancer. You can read more about him here.
