Pinellas gives initial okay to elementary zoning changes
The Pinellas County School Board voted 7-0 today to give initial approval to proposed zoning changes that will affect 20 elementary schools and about 400 incoming kindergarten students. The final vote will be March 15.
One parent spoke in opposition.
(She objected to the proposed rezoning of the Crescent Lake neighborhood from Sexton Elementary to Woodlawn Elementary.)
The final vote on the middle and high school zoning changes is Feb. 22. The board is expected to discuss rezoning more at a workshop that is set to begin shortly.
