In Pinellas, Lakewood, Pinellas Park and Dunedin high schools shine in improving graduation rates
Those high schools had the most-improved rates in Pinellas in 2008-09 and also show some of the biggest two-year gains, according to Florida Department of Education data.
Lakewood High jumped 14.4 percentage points last year and 19.1 percentage points in two years, putting its overall rate at 85.5 percent. Dunedin moved 11.5 percentage points over one year and 26.4 percentage points over two years, putting its overall rate at 83.4 percent.

Here's one way to look at it: Two years ago, seven Pinellas high schools had rates below 70 percent. Now, only Dixie Hollins remains below that bar, and just barely at 69.5 prercent.
Here's another way: Two years ago, 12 Pinellas high school had rates below 75 percent. Now, two do (Dixie and Gibbs).
